G729 is a narrowband codec that is intended for low bandwidth use. It is particularly recommended if you will be making calls over 3G because it provides better audio quality on your cellular data connection.

To use iPhytter, you need to access a Wi-Fi or 3G connection to make and receive calls.
Under 3G environment, the voice quality may be impacted as cellular data is not ideal for voice calls. Also it can affect the battery life. Therefore it is recommended to use iPhytter with Wi-Fi connection.
iPhtter communication requires the packets a lot. Thus we strongly recommend having “unlimited talk & internet” option with your mobile company. “Free” in this description is based on that condition. Some mobile network operators may prohibit or restrict the use of VoIP functionality over their network and may also impose additional fees, or other charges in connection with VoIP. You agree to learn and abide by your cellular carrier’s network restrictions.
